Our Specialized Safari Types
Migration
Follow two million wildebeest and zebra through Serengeti’s annual cycle. We position you for the right week in the right sector—river crossings or calving, not guesswork.
- Best time: River crossings Jun–Oct (Kogatende/Lamela); Calving Jan–Mar (Ndutu).
- Route ideas: Ngorongoro → Central Serengeti → North (or Ndutu in Green Season).
- Trip length: 8–12 days. One-way routing to cut backtracking.
- Good to know: Crossings are wild, not scheduled; we build buffer days.
Big Five
Focused tracking for lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo—with patient guiding and fewer vehicles.
- When: Year-round; shoulder months mean thinner crowds.
- Hotspots: Central/Northern Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater rim/crater, Tarangire.
- Trip length: 5–7 days; add an extra day if rhino is a must-see.
- Reality check: Leopard and rhino need time; we plan for multiple chances.
Family
Shorter drives, private pacing, kid-friendly lodges, and guides who turn questions into quests.
- Great for: Ages 6+; teens love walking/cultural add-ons where permitted.
- Structure: 2–3 nights per camp, midday pool breaks, flexible mealtimes.
- Where: Tarangire + Ngorongoro + Central Serengeti (or Ndutu in Jan–Mar).
- Safety: Family tents/inter-connecting rooms; vetted properties only.
Luxury
Top lodges and mobile camps, private vehicles, exclusive concessions, and smooth hops by light aircraft.
- Flow: Fly-in circuits with private transfers, unhurried game drives.
- Perks: Spa downtime, sommelier-level dining, sundowners with a view.
- Trip length: 10–14 days across 3–4 locations.
- Tip: One property per biome beats many rushed check-ins.
Photographic
Light-first itineraries, unhurried sightings, vehicle setups for stability and low angles.
- Vehicle: Max 3 photographers per vehicle, beanbags, clamp mounts on request.
- Power: In-car charging, cold storage for batteries, early breakfast kits.
- Windows: Dawn and late-afternoon golden hours are protected time.
- Guides: Spotting skills + positioning for natural backgrounds, not bumpers.
