iTanzania Safaris is a Tanzania-based tour operator specialising in wildlife safaris, Kilimanjaro climbing, and Zanzibar beach holidays. We are a registered member of TATO — the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators.

2. What Data We Collect
We only collect data you voluntarily provide or that is generated automatically when you browse our site.
2a. Data you provide
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), travel dates and preferences you share in your message.
- WhatsApp enquiries: your WhatsApp display name and message content if you contact us via our chat button.
- Email correspondence: any information included in emails you send us directly.
2b. Data collected automatically
- Usage analytics: pages visited, time on site, referring URL, browser type, device type, approximate country — collected via Google Analytics 4 (anonymised; IP addresses are not stored).

5. Data Retention
- Enquiry & booking correspondence: retained for up to 3 years after your enquiry, or 7 years where required for tax/financial records.
- Analytics data: retained for 14 months in Google Analytics, then automatically deleted.
- Marketing email list: retained until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
6. Cookies
We use cookies to help the site function and to understand how visitors use it. You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies beyond the analytics cookies listed above. We do not use third-party retargeting pixels.

8. International Data Transfers
iTanzania Safaris is based in Tanzania. If you are based in the EEA or UK, your data may be transferred to and processed in Tanzania and other countries where our service providers operate (including the United States, where Google's servers are located). Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on standard contractual clauses and the adequacy mechanisms provided by Google and other processors under GDPR Article 46.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction. Our website is served over HTTPS. Contact form data is transmitted via encrypted connection through EmailJS. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; if you have concerns about transmitting sensitive data, please contact us by phone instead.
10. Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on our website. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
