Day-by-Day Timeline
Day 1 — Arrive Kilimanjaro (JRO) · Arusha Overnight(D)
Warm meet-and-greet at Kilimanjaro International Airport and private transfer to your Arusha lodge. After a short briefing, enjoy a slow evening with views of Mt. Meru. Dinner highlights local Swahili flavors; early night recommended to sync with sunrise safari starts.
Optional: Coffee estate stroll, last-minute gear check, or a 30-minute camera setup session with your guide.
Day 2 — Tarangire National Park: Baobabs & Elephant Herds(B, L, D)
Enter Tarangire’s baobab valleys and river loops. Dry-season concentrates elephant families, buffalo, and lion ambushes; green-season birding is excellent.
Day 3 — Scenic Drive to Central Serengeti (Seronera)(B, L, D)
Cross the Rift to Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate. En-route game drive across kopjes for lions, fig groves for leopard, short-grass for cheetah.
Day 4 — Full-Day Serengeti: Predators & Big Plains(B, L, D)
Sunrise start to catch cats on the move. Seronera river lines are leopard corridors; nearby plains support cheetah hunts. Optional dawn balloon (extra).
Day 5 — Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands(B, L, D)
Leisurely morning drive, then climb to the cool highlands. Rim-view lodge for sunsets over the caldera rim.
Day 6 — Ngorongoro Crater Floor: Big Five in a Day(B, L, D)
Early descent to beat traffic and enjoy soft light. Dense wildlife includes buffalo herds, lion coalitions and, with luck, Black Rhino. Picnic at Ngoitokitok Springs.
Day 7 — Return to Arusha · Depart(B)
Breakfast, drive to Arusha for a relaxed lunch/day room (as flights allow). Private transfer to airport; optional Zanzibar extension.
