Day 1 — Arrive Arusha

Fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) — 45 minutes from Arusha. Your driver-guide meets you at arrivals and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to acclimatize, explore Arusha town, or visit the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre. Recommended accommodation: Arusha Coffee Lodge or African Tulip for mid-range/high-end; Ilboru Safari Lodge for budget.

Day 2 — Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Early departure (07:00) for Tarangire National Park, 2.5 hours from Arusha. Tarangire is famous for its extraordinary elephant concentrations — particularly July–October when the Tarangire River is the only water source and thousands of animals converge. A full day on game drive in Tarangire is one of Tanzania's most underrated experiences.
